About
IndiaTrib 2026 is the 14th in the series of International Conferences on Tribology organized by Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in association with the Tribology Society of India. The IndiaTrib2026 will be organized at Indian Institute of Technology of Madras located at Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India and called as the Gateway of South India.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras
Founded in 1959, IIT Madras is a top-ranking Indian institution for engineering and technology. with over 10,000 students and 700 faculty on its vast 620-acre green and sustainable campus.Consistently ranked India's best engineering institute by the government's NIRF framework, it is a global leader in academics, cutting-edge research, and industry collaboration. The Chennai International Airport is well connected to the rest of the world and is just about 30 min from the campus. Within 100 km from Chennai are the well-known World Heritage Centre, Mahabalipuram. (rock-carved royal monuments of the 7th-8th century), and Kancheepuram, also called 'City of Thousand Temples'.
Tribology Society of India (TSI)
The Tribology Society of India (TSI) stands as the premier professional body in the nation dedicated to the field of tribology. Established in June 1989, TSI is a non-profit organization that serves as a unifying platform, bringing together academicians, industry professionals, and research organizations under one common umbrella. Its mission is to foster collaboration and advance work in this critical area.
